So that the right to childhood may become a reality!

The gift

At this moment, 215 million children are forced to work to help their families survive or reimburse their debts. They are domestic workers, factory workers, or miners, sometimes kidnapped or sold to become child soldiers or sexual slaves. More often than not, they cannot go to school and must work in conditions that threaten their physical and psychological wellbeing.

And yet, all children in the world are equal and have the same rights. Everywhere, little girls and boys are the same. They want to learn, play and ... laugh!

Laughter is universal. It also symbolises childhood. This gift will contribute to giving back a lost childhood to children who have been freed from exploitation through labour in India and Thailand. Not only are you giving this gift of laughter to a family member or friend, you are also giving this happy gift to more and more children supported by CCI who can now re-learn how to have fun in a safe environment. The donation is tax-deductible.

The different steps

Step 1. Access CCI’s secure website to make a donation of $10 or more through ‘Canada Helps. Click here. You can also make a donation in the name of more than one person (Ex: for 5 gifts, make a donation of 50$ or more).

Step 2. Complete the Canada Helps questionnaire and, in the section Message/instructions for CHILDREN'S CARE INTERNATIONAL, insert the words "The gift of laughter". Don’t forget to insert YOUR email address in the appropriate space.

Step 3. Within two days, you will receive an email from info@aipe-cci.org offering you two choices:

A) To send an email notice of your gift: fill in the missing information (i.e. name of the person in whose name you have made the gift, your name, the amount of your gift) and email the message to the person in question; upon receipt the addressee will need to click on the link provided in the message to visualise and hear your gift.

or

B) To make a hard-copy card of your gift for you to snail mail or personally hand to the person in question: simply print out the card back-to-back, and fill in the same information by hand; the internet address where he/she can visualise the gift is mentioned in the card.

*In both cases, so that this may be a surprise, we suggest you not say a word until the card is visualised.

Step 4. Your friend or family member receives the gift.

Step 5. Your gift supports children freed from exploitation and their families in India and Thailand through various types of projects: reconstruction, rehabilitation, education and reintegration.
