News from Thailand

Renovations at the Santikham Center in Thailand

Our partner on the field took the initiative to start urgent renovations at the Santikham Center even though we don’t have all the necessary financing yet. The Santikham Center currently serves as a welcome center where children can play and learn only during the day. The renovations are meant to transform the center so as to offer a fully equipped shelter during the night. Presently, workingorking children who often visit the center during the day have nowhere to stay at night and usually spend the night on the street. They sometimes arrive at the center with wounds, and in need of some support.

As soon as the renovations are completed, we will be able to offer these children a secure place to spend the night, therefore protecting them from street dangers. The Santikham Center project has been made possible by the Fondation Mathieu-Lafond See picture of ongoing renovations>>>

News and testimony from Hélène Vanier from Thailand

Hélène Vanier, a member of CCI’s board is currently visiting and overseeing the activities at the Santikham Center. Read full testimony>>>

Buy the Recording Coeur d'enfants by the students of École Tourterelle! !

École Tourterelle, a public primary school situated on Montreal's south shore (Brossard) has recorded a musical CD entitled “Coeur d'enfants” (a play on words: coeur meaning heart, and choeur—pronounced the same way—meaning choir). This project required the participation of 145 children aged 5 to 12 years of age (including 51 soloists) directed by three musicians (Anne, Carol and Hélène). The songs on the soundtrack celebrate childhood and the importance of protecting children throughout the world. To order your CD.
