Social and economic reintegration of children released from indentured slavery (2003 à 2024)

After more than 20 years of commitment, this project has become a cornerstone of education in the region and has nearly eradicated indentured servitude. Beyond schooling, personalized support ensured the success of each child, allowing them to pursue chosen careers and secure a stable future.

The impact of this initiative extends well beyond the current generation: these young people, now adults, can provide better living conditions for their own children, perpetuating a cycle of development and empowerment. The completion of this project marks not only the achievement of a long-term goal but also the beginning of a lasting transformation, where education, freedom, and hope shape the future of an entire community.

Financial autonomy for underprivileged women and families through microcredit (2006 à 2024)

The completion of the microcredit program marks the culmination of an initiative that has sustainably transformed the lives of many families by financially empowering mothers of children previously affected by indentured slavery. Through interest-free loans and financial management training, these women were able to create and grow their own businesses, breaking the cycle of economic insecurity.

Today, most of them have become successful entrepreneurs, contributing not only to improving their families’ quality of life, but also to the development of their communities. As a result, 947 children have been enrolled in
school, while progress in gender equality and the modernization of banking systems now allow women easier access to credit.

Educating girls with family responsibilities : Anganwadi Schools (2019 à 2023)

CCI and its partner’s work demonstrated the importance of Anganwadi schools in the communities despite the small number of children attending them. The government consequently decided to operate the schools established by CCI and NEED. Government involvement in our schools, which are normally a service provided by the Indian state, is excellent news for the underserved communities.
